Tasks and Services
The IT support services offered for the department and its members can be grouped under various points:
Advice
- We provide advice and support for the acquisition both of computers and of peripheral equipment from printers to projectors. Please also see our notes on the acquisition of ICT equipment (PC/computer, notebook, software, accessories etc).
- At the same time, we are the first point of contact for all queries and problems concerning IT.
Operation
- Operation of the IT infrastructure amongst the department network and FUnkLAN (WLAN) in collaboration with ZEDAT.
- Operation of the interdepartmental image database “easyDB”.
- With the e-mail service (in German only) and associated mailing lists, electronic distribution lists can be set up centrally and maintained efficiently.
Administration
- Administration of software distribution and licensing.
- The reservation and use of data projectors (in German only) is managed electronically for the Department for Art History. More about this on a separate page (in German only).
- Issue of personal and server certificates in the context of the PKI infrastructure of the German research network. More information can be found on the ZEDAT pages about certificates.
