You can find a Parent-Child-Room at the following locations:
- in the new building of the Department of History and Cultural Studies (Fabeckstr. 23/25). It is located on the ground floor in Room 0.1008. Please use the building entrance at Fabeckstr./Rudi-Dutschke Weg.
- at Koserstr. 20 on the first floor, wing A, Room A 153
The room offers the following facilities:
-
a PC workplace and a telephone (you may log in with your regular account)
-
toys/books for young and older children
-
a lounger with a breastfeeding pillow
-
(baby’s) changing pad
-
kid’s table and chairs
-
shelf with craft supplies
which may be used by all members of the department.
This room is used as the First-Aid-Room as well and is accessible through the key distribution of course rooms. Students with children should turn to members of the staff for access.
It is imperative to make sure the room is securely locked after each use.
Students who would prefer to look after each other’s children have the possibility to use a larger and very well-resourced room in the Rost- und Silberlaube. www.fu-berlin.de/en/sites/dcfam-service/studium_mit_kind/eltern-kind-zimmer
The room could use more toys: Legos, Playmobil, more children’s books, toy cars, craft stuff, etc. is all very welcome.
An additional Parent-Child Room can be found in the Koserstr. 20 in Room A153.
If you have any further questions or ideas, please do not hesitate to turn to Elinor Trenczek, the Women’s Representative at the department (frauenbeauftragte@geschkult.fu-berlin.de).
