We warmly welcome you to our department and look forward to welcoming you as a student from October 2025. An introductory event for our international master's students takes place at the beginning of the semester. During the event, you will receive important initial information about starting your studies.

Offers for Refugees

If you are a qualified student who had to leave your home country as a refugee, Freie Universität Berlin offers you a special welcome program. You will be given the opportunity to attend selected courses and participate in selected additional offerings free of charge and thus prepare yourself for the start of a degree program.

Semester abroad at the FU Berlin

We welcome a large number of international exchange students from various programs each year. Most programs are specific to the individual institutes. However, the application process is up to the university's central administration. So check if your university has an exchange agreement with Freie Universität and visit both the central locations of FU Berlin and our institutes.

Distributed Campus

As a special tool for Erasmus+ exchange students and students of some of our international MA programs, we offer the online portal Distributed Campus, which includes a timeline and to-do list as well as a wealth of information about your start in Berlin and at Freie Universität.

International Club

We are a group of students who want to promote internationalization at Freie Universität Berlin. We organize a variety of events and activities for international and national students.
