The Interdisciplinary Studies of the Middle East (ISME) program at Freie Universität Berlin is once again featured in the DAAD database of international degree programs for 2023/2024.

This two-year, English-taught master's program provides an interdisciplinary approach to studying the languages, cultures, societies, religions, and histories of the Middle East. The curriculum covers topics from fields such as Arabic Studies, Iranian Studies, Islamic Studies, Jewish Studies, and more. Through lectures, seminars, and an intensive thesis project, students gain a nuanced understanding of this diverse and complex region. Graduates are prepared for careers in diplomacy, academia, journalism, and intercultural affairs.
