Political Ideology and Education: The Case of (Myth)History Teaching in Albania during Communist and Post-Communist period

Given the fact that school is a plot of the country’s political atmosphere and because it constitutes the boundary between society and power (Droit, 2009), Denis Vuka studies the role and the function of education in Albania during the Communist rule, including the 1990s. History teaching for almost five decades played a key role in the mission given to education that far exceeded its educational functions and turned it into an important instrument of state policy.

Denis Vuka graduated in 2008 from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology. Furthermore, in 2011 he was awarded the Master’s Degree in History and Didactics of History from University of Athens, Faculty of Primary Education.
