Doctoral candidates at the HCS are also members of the Dahlem Research School (DRS), which aims to impart interdisciplinary key qualifications in addition to scientific skills. These include project management, presentation techniques and scientific communication in German and English. The course on research integrity is compulsory for all doctoral students at HCS and is awarded one credit point. Members of the DRS receive a limited number of course hours per academic year for DRS events, see ‘Personal Budget’. For the DRS workshops, as well as for those of the Graduate Studies Support Program of the Berlin University Alliance,  doctoral students of the HCS are awarded credit points in the doctoral curriculum for the area of key qualifications.
