Dr. Assaf Bar-Moshe gained his Ph.D. from the Department of Linguistics and the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the Hebrew University. His main area of interest is Jewish Arabic dialects in Mesopotamia. Having published his monograph about the phonology and morphology of the Jewish dialect of Baghdad, Bar-Moshe is currently focused on the description of syntactic phenomenon in the dialect. In addition, he is engaged in a research project about the Jewish dialect of ˁĀna, funded by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation and conducted at Freie Universität.
