Dima M. She initially trained as a medical student at the University of Aleppo, but later switched to languages, literary studies and journalism. She has been moderator and redactor in Arabic TV and broadcast as well as cultural institutions in Istanbul, Turkey. Now in Germany, Dima Sakran continues to regularly write in her native Arabic for the Al-Jazeera network, also engaging in German organizations for social refugee’s work and language teaching.

In the Kalīla and Dimna project, Dima Sakran focuses both on manuscript transcription and the implementation of data to the project’s LERA platform. Her tasks also include the monitoring of additional manuscript descriptions that help to classify the manuscripts as well as contributing to the project’s manuscript survey.
