Oualid El Khattabi coordinates the publications output at Arabic studies (both print and digital editions). He joined the Kalīla and Dimna project in April 2020, focussing on manuscript transcriptions. He provided the English translations of the project's editions done in a special, near-verbatim mode, as well as the project's communications in Modern Arabic.

Oualid El Khattabi earned his MA in Arabic Studies at the ISME programme of Freie Universität Berlin and an MA in English Studies: Literature, Language, Culture at Freie Universität Berlin. He holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Abdelmalek Essaadi University, Martil, Morocco, and a Translation Degree (Arabic-English-French) from King Fahd School of Translation, Tangier, Morocco.
