The Minangkabau area is part of the western highland region of Sumatra (Map drawn by A. Weiser).Plan of Bukit Gombak and Bukit Kincir where ten excavation trenches were placed (Map drawn by Andrison, A. Hotzan- Tchabashvili).In Area E, 18 aligned postholes were excavated which form the corner of a large building.Excavation at Bukit Gombak which lies south of the volcano Gunung Merapi.At Bukit Kincir, aligned stone structures were interpreted as grave sites.At Bukit Gombak, a water source was discovered where the natural stone was terraced.In Tanah Datar, rounded stones were erected as burial markers. This kris-shaped megalith was investigated at the village Saruasa Timur.Reading one of King Ādityavarman’s inscriptions.
