Kirill Dmitriev is Senior Lecturer in Arabic at the University of St Andrews, UK. His research focuses on the study of classical Arabic language and literature. He is PI of "Analytical Database of Arabic Poetry" and the co-editor of the volume “Passed around by a Crescent” Wine Poetry in the Literary Traditions of the Islamic World (Beirut: Ergon, 2022) and the volume Insatiable Appetite: Food as Cultural Signifier in the Middle East and Beyond (Leiden: Brill, 2019). Kirill Dmitriev is the founding member of the Arab-German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities (AGYA) and the recipient of the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
