Ghosts of War. Nazi Occupation and Its Aftermath in Soviet Belarus by Franziska Exeler has received Honorable Mention for the 2023 W. Bruce Lincoln Book Prize.

The prize is awarded annually by the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) for "an author's first published monograph or scholarly synthesis that is of exceptional merit and lasting significance" for the historical understanding of the territories of the former imperial Russian state and the Soviet Union.
