I am a PhD candidate in Greek history at FU Berlin’s Friedrich-Meinecke-Institut, supported by the Einstein Foundation Berlin. Furthermore, I am a member of the Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies (BerGSAS).
In 2013 I got a BA in Classics at the University of Bari with a thesis in Classical Philology on Andokides’ biographical tradition. Then I continued my studies at the Catholic University of Milan, where I strengthened my reasearch interests, namely Greek History and history of Athenian politics and law. I gained my MA in Classics in 2016 with a thesis focused on a commentary on Pseudo-Lysias’ speech Against Andokides.
In the wider context of the project “Bewegung als Prinzip”, my PhD thesis will deal with the development of the legal procedure of eisangelia in Classical Athens, which played a major role in defending the democracy, disciplining officials and punishing treason. I will explore not only the role of eisangelia with the institutional framework of Athenian democracy, but also its impact on political behaviour.
