Deputy Principal Investigator until 6/2024. Since 7/2024 tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Egyptology at the University of Toronto

I am an Egyptologist (PhD) working on both philological and historical questions. I focus on the later parts of Egyptian history, in particular the Graeco-Roman period. My work primarily concerns ancient Egyptian history of science, especially astral knowledge (astronomy, astrology). I am also interested in questions relating to the institutions of ancient knowledge production, such as the temples and the priesthood, which I explore from different perspectives. Other areas that I have been researching include legal practises, social and economic history, and onomastics. I am also preparing several Coptic and Demotic texts for publication.
