Advantages
Studying abroad with the Erasmus programme offers you various advantages: no additional tuition fees at the exchange university, recognition of all academic achievements, free participation in language courses, help with finding an accommandation and a travel allowance. Are you entitled to BAFöG? Then you also have the option of applying for BAFöG abroad (Auslands-BAFöG).

Application
The application deadline is usually 31 January for the coming winter semester and/or summer semester and 15 May for the summer semester (remaining places). You can find more information about the application and other advantages and requirements on the central website of the Erasmus Office of the FU Berlin.
The following application documents are required:
- Online application form
- Letter of motivation (1 page)
- Curriculum vitae
- Language certificate (based on the language requirements of the partner university)
- Current overview of your credits from the Campus Management
- Current certificate of enrolment
Further exchange opportunities
In addition to the Erasmus programme, many other foundations offer the possibility of studying abroad. To apply to the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), please refer to their website or enquire information at the relevant contact point at the FU Berlin.
The FU Berlin also offers the PROMOS programme. The programme offers students and doctoral candidates the opportunity to receive financial support if their stay abroad does not fit into any of the programmes offered by the DAAD or Erasmus.
The FU Berlin offers numerous opportunities to gain international experience. Students can use the FU Berlin database to search for various exchange opportunities. You can find the database here (in German).
