English Master's Program "Archaeology of the Ancient World" (MA AAW)
Archaeology of the Ancient World (MA AAW) is a two-year full-time Master's program taught in English.
The MA combines three disciplines - Prehistoric Archaeology, Near Eastern Archaeology and Classical Archaeology - to examine the past of North Africa, Southwest Asia and Europe from a multidisciplinary perspective.
The program introduces students to the past of a part of the world that has undergone intense intercultural and inter-societal transformations over the last ten thousand years. In order to explore these processes, MA AAW students are provided with theoretical skills in dealing with texts and opinions as well as artefacts and data.
The MA AAW builds on knowledge acquired in the fields of archaeology, history and cultural anthropology as part of a bachelor's degree or through professional qualifications.
