Abstract
Since 2014, the FU-ISMEO archaeological mission, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the University of Bern, funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (research grant, project number 521114089), has focused on the Bronze Age settlement of Togolok 1, one of the most important sites of prehistoric Margiana, dated from the 3rd to the 2nd millennium BCE. Through the excavation of a long-lived site, the main intent is to understand the settlement dynamics of this crucial period and the intra- and extra-regional relations that the Murghab region had with the extended GKC (Greater Khorasan Civilization) area, from the Mesopotamia to the Indus Valley, and with the vast and mysterious steppes to the north.
There will be a drink after the lecture.
Everyone is cordially invited and we look forward to seeing you there,
Elisa Roßberger and Dominik Bonatz
