Nathalie Handal is an award-winning poet and writer who grew up in Latin America, France and the Middle East, and educated in the United Kingdom and the United States. In this talk, which constitutes the key note lecture to the closed workshop On Exile, Resistance and Universal Resonance that will be held at the Kreisky Forum November 19-20, Nathalie Handal will explore various topics that regularly feature in her poetry, such as the concept of otherness or belonging that are central to the Palestinian experience.

Nathalie is presently based in Rome and Abu Dhabi, where she is a professor at New York University Abu Dhabi.
