Prof. Dr. Jang-jip Choi
Professor Choi is an internationally renowned scholar for his research on Korean democracy and its prospect. He earned his PhD in political science at the University of Chicago in 1983 for his thesis, “Interest Conflict and Political Control in South Korea.” After 25 years’ active research and teaching as a professor in the department of political science and international relations at the Korea University, he is currently an emeritus professor at the same University. He is also well known as a former chairman of Ahn Cheol-soo’s think tank, Policy Network Tomorrow. He has been a prolific writer and his main publications include Democracy after Democratization: The Korean Experience (Asia-Pacific Research Center, 2012), Post-Cold War and Peace: Experiences, Conditions and Choices (edited by Jang-Jip Choi and Richard A. Falk, Asiatic Research Center, 2003) and Sustainable Democracy (edited by Adam Przeworski, Cambridge University Press, 1995).
