Daniella Zaidman-Mauer completed her PhD at the University of Amsterdam, School of History Research (ASH) Department of Hebrew and Jewish Studies (2024), writing her thesis on Plague and piety. Yiddish medical literature in early modern Europe under the supervision of Prof. Irene Zwiep and Prof. Bart Wallet. Currently, she is associate researcher at the "Patterns of Knowledge Circulation," focusing on early modern magical-medical recipe books in Yiddish, in print and in manuscripts.
She is also lecturer in Early Modern Yiddish History & Modern Yiddish Language at the University of Amsterdam. Previously, she was associate researcher at the Heinrich Heine University, working on the project “Intersectional identities in Old Yiddish Romance: ‘Bovo d'Antona’ and ‘Pariz un Vyene’,” led by Prof. Marion Aptroot & Prof. Miriam Edlich-Mut. She was also an associate researcher at the Open University of Israel, in the project “Broadsheets: an international database and study tools for Jewish historical documents” led by Prof. Avriel Bar-Levav.
