Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies
Professor
A native of The Netherlands, I teach Arabic and Islamic Studies at Tel Aviv University. My research has mostly dealt with encounters and polemics between Muslims and Jews in the Middle Ages and the Ottoman period, as well as with the works of Ibn Hazm of Cordoba. Together with Meira Polliack (Tel Aviv) and Sabine Schmidtke (Berlin), I am currently directing the five-year project Biblia Arabica, which analyzes Jewish, Christian and Samaritan translations of the Bible into Arabic and their use by Muslim authors. Some of my publications can be accessed via http://telaviv.academia.edu/CamillaAdang
