Mrs. Shelley Harten received her PhD in History with emphasis on Modern History in July 2016. Her interdisciplinary Dissertation 

A Desert in the Mirror. Representations of the „Arab“ and the „Orient“ in Yishuv and Israeli Visual Arts 1906-1957.    

will now be awarded with the Hedwig Hintze Prize for the Advancement of Women of the Department of History and Cultural Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin. Since 2012 this prize awards outstanding dissertations by young women scholar within the Department.

The prize will be awarded to Shelley Harten at the closing ceremony of this semester next wednesday, 14th February 2018.
