HIGEOMES - The Historical Geography of Upper Mesopotamia in the 2nd Millenium BC: Interdisciplinary Studies
The binational project "Historical Geography of Upper Mesopotamia" (HiGeoMes) was financed from April 2011 for a period of 36 months through the support of the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) and the ANR (Agence National de la Recherche). The project is lead by French and German researchs from the fields of Ancient Near Eastern Studies, Geo-Sciences, and Near Eastern Archeology and focuses on historical geography and geoarcheology and settlement archeology in the area covered. The project was formally completed in September 2014. Research on the historical geography was continued through the successor project TexTelSem.
