"Middle Mongol as it appears in Chinese sources"
Mongolian is one of the languages that has been recorded by a large number of scripts throughout its history. Writing systems used to transcribe Mongolian show a great variety spanning from the alphabetic Arabic to the logographic Chinese. Latter is one of the most important sources for the so called Middle Mongol linguistic state, thus its research has been a great challenge for scholars in the past hundred years.
