Beatrice Kitzinger ist seit 2015 Assistant Professor für mittelalterliche Kunstgeschichte an der Universität in Princeton. Sie hat Geschichte und Literatur, danach Kunstgeschichte, an der Harvard University studiert. Promoviert wurde sie 2012 an der Harvard University (Cross and Book: Late-Carolingian Breton Gospel Illumination and the Instrumental Cross). 2012–2015 lehrte sie als Mellon Fellow in the Humanities an Stanford University und am Prison University Project, Saint Quentin, Kalifornien. Ihre Forschungsinteressen gelten der frühmittelalterlichen Buchmalerei, die sie in enger Beziehung zu ihren kodikologischen Kontexten, zu Objekten, Handlungen und Räumen untersucht, wobei sie die Buchproduktion in einem erweiterten Kontext karolingischer Kunstproduktion betrachtet.
