Cecilia Conte und Yunchen Tan erhalten für ihre Promotionsvorhaben jeweils ein Stipendium des Landes Berlin.

Cecilia Conte forscht zu ihrer Doktorarbeit mit dem Titel "What is a horse? Approaching Mongolian horses through archaeology, ethnography, and genetics" (Ein Pferd, was ist das? Mongolische Pferde durch Archäologie, Ethnographie und Genetik verstehen)". Sie beschreibt die Ziele ihrer Forschung so: "This doctoral project aims to create an interdisciplinary understanding of horse-human relationships in Mongolia across time. It approaches ancient and living horses through a combination of scientific and pastoral knowledges, while also reflecting on research practices and contributing to multi-vocal dialogues."

Yunchen Tan verfasst eine Doktorarbeit zum Thema: "Tracking Settlement Transitions and Emergent Social Complexity among Non-Agricultural Societies in Northeast China". Dazu sagt sie: "My study aims to explore how prehistoric non-agricultural societies in Northeast China developed social diversification and interacted with neighbouring regions. It will also examine human-environment interactions, particularly the role of different ecosystems in supporting and constraining emergent social dynamics."
