Abstract:
Examining the regional distribution of industries across North Korea and the specific characteristics of the kind of networks that exist between individual enterprises and their immediate local environments is essential when trying to understand the workings of the country’s planned economy. In his presentation, Dr Lyu will introduce the results of his empirical analysis of data he himself has gathered as part of his research into small and medium-sized enterprises in various parts of North Korea and their respective regional networks.
