"Formation of Korean Children's Literature"
Abstract
Through this lecture, I will examine the formation process of Korean children's literature from 1895 to the late 1930s. It is necessary to pay attention to the unique formation and development of Korean children's literature according to the unequal development of Korea's unique literary tradition and modern institutions by colonial modernity.

Prof. Dr. Hyun Sook Oh (BK21 Assistant Professor, Department of Korean Language and Literature, Seoul National University / Author of ‘Korean Modern Children’s Literature Narrative Genre’)
Prof. Dr. Hyun Sook Oh is a researcher she explores Korean studies through the phenomenon that children’s literature crosses the boundaries of various disciplines. In February 2016, she graduated from the Department of Korean Literature at Seoul National University with a dissertation on the ‘formation and genre differentiation of Korean children’s literature’. Currently, she is studying to cross the boundary between children's literature and adult literature, and is interested in media aesthetics. Major publications include 'Tell Me the Sacred Fairy Tale: A Re-examination of Bang Jeong-hwan's Literature and Thought', published in 2018 with the Bang Jeong-hwan Institute, and 'Theory of Korean Modern Children's Literature Narrative Genre', which was published in 2021 with the support of the National Research Foundation of Korea in recognition of its excellence in research. etc.
