Silvana Greco ist eine akademische Soziologin, die zwischen Berlin, Mailand und Castiglione delle Stiviere lebt. Sie ist Buchautorin, Kuratorin von Kunstaustellungen und Vizepräsidentin der Stiftung Palazzo Bondoni Pastorio (Fondazone Palazzo Bondoni Pastorio).

1993 hat sie ihre Magisterarbeit in Volkswirtschaft an der Universität L. Bocconi in Mailand abgeschlossen. 2005 folgte die Promotion in Soziologie an der Universität Mailand und 2021 die Habilitation in Soziologie an der Technischen Universität Dresden.

Seit 2022 ist sie Privatdozentin für Soziologie am Institut für Soziologie der Technischen Universität Dresden

Im Dezember 2023 wurde sie zur Honorarprofessorin für Soziologie des Judentums an der Freien Universität Berlin ernannt.

Als Vizepräsidentin der Fondazione Palazzo Bondoni Pastorio in Castiglione delle Stiviere ist sie verantwortlich für die Konzeption und Koordination der kulturellen Aktivitäten der Stiftung: Museum, Ausstellungen zeitgenössischer Kunst, Konzerte, Seminare und Konferenzen, Veröffentlichungen, wissenschaftliche Forschung.

Sie verfügt über 30 Jahre Erfahrung in der Sozialforschung und 20 Jahre in der akademischen Lehre.

Von 1998 bis 2017 war sie als Beraterin und wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin in europäischen Projekten tätig, die von EU-Forschungsprogrammen kofinanziert wurden.

Von 2005 bis 2023 hat sie an mehreren europäischen Universitäten gelehrt und geforscht (Freie Universität Berlin, Università della Svizzera Italiana, IES Abroad in Mailand, Universität Mailand und Milano-Bicocca, Università Commerciale L. Bocconi, Università degli Studi di Perugia).

Seit Mitte der 1990er Jahre bis heute hat sie zahlreiche Bücher, Monographien und Aufsätze in Fachzeitschriften veröffentlicht und an zahlreiche internationale Konferenzen teilgenommen.
