The Institute of Iranian Studies at Freie Universität Berlin invites students and staff to explore the art of Persian calligraphy in a special workshop led by the renowned calligrapher Hafez Rafei.
Calligraphy, a refined and timeless art form, has been widely used in languages such as New Persian, Kurdish, Pashto, Urdu, Baluchi, and Malay. Beyond its linguistic significance, calligraphy has adorned palaces, buildings, and coins throughout history.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of the elegant nasta'liq and šekasteh nasta'liq styles in this hands-on session.
