"100,000 Won Friends: Calculating Gifts and Debts Among Dear Friends in South Korean Institutional Network"
I was born in Seoul, South Korea. After graduating from high school my desire to study and experience different cultures led me to Germany. I completed a Bachelor's degree in sociology at the Bielefeld University (2010) and earned a Master's degree in european ethnology at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2013). My particular interests are economic and visual anthropology, especially the knowledge transfer in public through interactive methods. I completed an internship at the radio broadcast in Bielefeld (Hertz87.9, 2009) and designed the academic exhibition "Welt-Bilder - Bild-Welten" in Berlin (2012-2013). Moreover, I shot a short documentary film "Dancing the Crisis" (2013), which is screened in two international film festivals. In line with my intersts, I designed and moderated number of intercultural trainings at KUSTOS, the cultural and studying organisation for international students at HU Berlin (2011-2014). Since autumn 2013, I am a Ph.D. candidate at GEAS and working on the research project about the Korean gift economy "pujogŭm".
